It is hard to be casual and superficial when you’ve had a meaningful relationship with someone. So to recover from a break up, the best thing to do is to keep your distance and avoid them if you can. Doing that will allow your heart to start to heal, as the wound is not being opened, and your feelings aren’t being stirred. This will help to set you free to rebuild your life again, and you’ll be able to relate to them more easily in time.
